Common questions
How do I play?
Put one piece in every row, every column and every colour, with no two pieces touching, even diagonally. Tap a square once to cross it out, again to place a piece, and a third time to clear it. Drag across squares to cross out many at once. The lessons on the home screen teach the ideas one at a time.
I'm stuck. What does Hint do?
If something on the board is wrong, Hint shows which squares and offers to take them back. Otherwise it shows the next move you can work out, highlights the squares involved and explains why in plain words. You can place it for yourself or let the app do it.
Are there puzzles that need guessing?
No. Every puzzle has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone. Expert puzzles may need a "what if?" step: imagine a piece on a square and follow what it forces.
How does the daily puzzle work?
There is one puzzle a day, the same for everyone. Mondays are quick and gentle, Thursday is the week's real test, and weekends are big boards that are long but relaxed. Solve on consecutive days to build a streak.
Can I share a puzzle with a friend?
Yes. Tap Share on the win screen, or in the Change puzzle sheet. Your friend taps the link to open that exact puzzle in the app.
Where is my progress saved?
Only on your device. There are no accounts. If you delete the app, or switch phones, progress does not come with you yet.
Does it work on iPad and iPhone Duo?
Yes. The layout adapts to portrait, landscape, a half-open fold (board on the lower screen) and a book-style fold (board on the left page).
The sound or music is too much.
Use the speaker and music buttons on the home screen. Sound effects follow the iPhone's silent switch, and music is off until you turn it on.
